Tyre Giant is committed to protecting the privacy of all its customers and website users.

The following outlines the basis on which any personal data is collected or provided from you, by Tyre Giant, and how that data will be processed.

For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1988, the data controller is Boco Tyres Limited. Boco Tyres requires your information to process and fulfil your tyre order.

Information Collection

Tyre Giant will collect the following data from the user:

  • Details of any transactions carried out through Tyre Giant and the fulfilment of orders

  • Information gathered from forms filled in on Tyre Giant including, but not limited to, information provided when requesting or subscribing to any service, becoming a registered user, information from any surveys that we may use for research purposes

  • Correspondence data from any form of communication you send to Tyre Giant

IP Address and Cookies Policy

Tyre Giant may collect information from a user’s device including the IP address, operating system and browser information. This information is statistical data and will not identify any individual user.

Tyre Giant may obtain general internet usage data from users by using cookie files stored on the hard drive of the user’s computer.

The usage of cookies will allow Tyre Giant to provide a better and more personalised service to individual users by allowing Tyre Giant to estimate audience size and usage patterns along with storing information on user preference and, in turn, allowing Tyre Giant to customise the website according to individual users.

Any data that Tyre Giant collects from its users will be processed by staff working for Tyre Giant, any Tyre Giant group companies or Tyre Giant service providers. The staff will be concerned with the fulfilment of orders, payment processing and providing support services, among other information.

All information gathered by, or provided to, Tyre Giant is stored on secure servers. Any payment transactions will be encrypted using secure sockets layer (SSL) technology.

Payment transactions are processed on the behalf of Tyre Giant by Streamline, a division of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group. Credit or debit card information provided on the Tyre Giant website will also be provided to Streamline, who operate a secure server to process payment details.

The transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Tyre Giant will strive to protect your personal data but security of data being transmitted cannot be guaranteed. Transmission of data is at the risk of the user. Tyre Giant employs strict procedures and security features in an attempt to prevent unauthorised access to data.

Information Usage

Tyre Giant will use customer information to carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between Tyre Giant and the customer. Your information will also be used to effectively present the Tyre Giant website in its best form to the user and notify users about changes to our service.

Tyre Giant, or selected third parties, may use customer data to provide customers with information about goods and services which may be of interest to the customer.

Customer’s personal information may be disclosed to any Tyre Giant affiliated company and third parties.

For security purposes, Tyre Giant may disclose the last four digits of the credit or debit card used to purchase form the Tyre Giant website to the selected fitting centre.

Tyre Giant may have a legal duty to disclose or share personal data of customers in order to protect rights, property or safety of customers or third parties. This includes, but is not limited to, exchanging information with companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

Customer data is an asset which may be transferred should our assets be acquired by a third party.
